The importance of exercise

There are two main reasons why exercising as a teen is important :

  1. Confidence

In the society we live in if you do not meet the beauty ideals or expectations, you are deemed to be not good enough or not worthy in the world. This is seriously not ok and is a founding reason why girls especially have so many problems and mental disorders when it comes to their weight. When being met with unrealistic society beauty ideals, girls starve themselves, try fad diets, or do other things such that are seriously damaging to their health and well  being. If their focus was on working out and doing things that make them feel good on the inside, and caring for their health above the way they look, there are studies that show how effective this is. Working out improves a girls confidence because it

-releases endorphins

-provides a feeling of accomplishment

-makes you feel good not only on the outside

-makes you feel in control of something

And when you see positive results within your body, it encourages you

2. Takes focus from food

When you focus on working out, the focus on food is skewed, there is less pressure to have to eat a small amount. You are able to eat for sustainability because your body is a machine that is in need of food. You think less and less of food, and you care about how you are going to workout and make healthy meals instead of the concern that your body does not look like the models that you see, and you are less pressured to look like the models that you are exposed to.

Here are other small benefits of working out,

-boosts energy

-decreases risk of disease

-helps sleep quality

-controls weight

-releases endorphins(keeps you happy)

-motivates you

-improves mental health

-helps with common anxiety

-helps with common depression
